George Henry Rowe is an emerging abstract artist and technologist. He explores the relationship between humans, machines and the environment through paintings, interactive and light installations, and other wall based media. He is interested in the harmonies and the tensions created between the digital and physical in our lives, creating compositions influenced by the cultural artifacts, memories and shapes of the modern world. He also works with real data, from sound, calculations, movement etc, and explores how it can bought into a physical creative process to add new perspectives.

As a painter, George explores the possibilities of combined human and computer creation, combining custom built digital and physical tools traditional painting techniques. The focus is not on the technology but the human intention, the affordances of physical creation, and how this interacts with the digital. He is fascinated in how the perfection of code created work is then made imperfect and therefore more compelling when it becomes physicalised through analogue processes.
