Still Life of a Pleasant Moment

  • Acrylic on canvas
  • 70 x 100cm

Created as a dialogue between human and machine processes, this piece was shaped by a sketch I drew while on holiday with my partner.

I wanted to explore how a still life might be influenced by technology, what it means to capture that moment with old and modern tools.

The moment was very still, and calm, and I wanted this painting to feel like a reflection of that. I was sitting in a quaint contryside location, but also, I was sketching these shapes onto my mobile phone, distracting myself from the book I was attempting to read.
