Created to celebrate the launch of my Seeing Differently exhibition (with Jessie Woodward and Emma Anne), I wanted to make a print that utilised ideas from some of my recent work, but designed specifically for the medium – a giclée print, and then utilising bespoke screen printing techniques to add a high gloss mirror varnish, and then rainbow foil in the second variation.
Illumination builds on the play between the two dimensional form of the design, but then the suggestion of real physical 3D work and light distribution. I wanted to layer up these elements and use the faux light in a way that would be impossible in the real world.
I have a precious few left after the exhibition. You can buy the varnish version here, and the foil version here.
