My first studies when getting back to creating art again were all about experiments with larger formats, paint, layering, and repeating patterns.
I am really interested in using a plotter with paint, as the messiness of the analogue paint technique mixed with the precision of the plotter creates am (I think) fascinating dialogue between these two practices: code/computational art, and painting.
The studies were my way of learning what materials, mixtures and methods created the aesthetics and the meaning that I wanted to create and convey. During making these, the conversation that sparked the Sounds of Printing series (Repetition, Wash Out, Exposure) happened, which led to creating these finished pieces.
